BUNDESLIGA
Early days in Germany, but the tune is the same as the
last years, even though the Munich orchestra is conducted by a different
maestro. Ancelotti has won all of his domestic games so far and sits top of the
table, capitalizing on the early slips of their rivals. But they do not sit
alone, as Hertha Berlin has had a perfect start that makes the fans believe in
better things after their recent spell at the 2.Bundesliga.
BAYERN MUNICH
Carlo Ancelotti is already showing that he was a smart
move from the Bayern board. The Italian was the only man available that would
be able to come after Guardiola and keeping the level of intensity and quality
that the Munich team has used us to. Without implementing big changes in the
team, the new face is the Portuguese Renato Sanches that has been starting
games and will show the improvement gained from playing at this level. 5 wins
out of 5 (with the Super Cup and the thrashing over Rostov in the Champions
debut) and Bayern is yet to face a proper rival to threaten their dominance.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND
It was threatening to be a very shaky start of season
for Dortmund, with a very hard-fought win against Mainz, and a slump against
Red Bull Leipzig and Tuchel needed to motivate his players, to perform again to
the levels they achieved last season. And a game that can change seasons
happened against Darmstadt. A convincing 6-0 that they followed with another at
Legia Warsaw in the Champions League, and everything seems to be flowing again
at the Signal Iduna Park.
HERTHA BERLIN
Hertha Berlin is the biggest team in the German’s
capital but they are not exactly known to challenge for the title. They can,
sometimes, finish near the top places, but they are an unusual sight in
European competitions, and that inexperience paid off, with a 3-2 loss in the 3rd
round of the Europa League to Brondby. In the Bundesliga, though, they had a
great start, are the only team that ties Bayern at the top, and they will go to
the Allianz-Arena (Wednesday 19:00) to fight for the lead.

With the top teams from last season all slumping in
the beginning, teams like Red Bull Leipzig or Koln are experience the heights
of the top. To more importance, Bayern is running away from their potential
opponents from early on, which might decide the Bundesliga early and leave the
other teams to fight for the Champions League spots. It’s still early days, but
Ancelotti started well and there’s no reason to predict that they will decline.
