Wales
Living in the shadow of their group rivals England, Wales is in their 1st Euro of their history, with the best generation in years, spearheaded by the great Gareth Bale, seconded by players like Ledley, Allen or Ramsey. If only Giggs was younger.. but the Dragons have clear a team capable of continuing to write history
How they qualified
It was after a draw at Belgium, while Israel
thrashed Bosnia, that the Welsh started believing that qualification was
possible. With a very strong defensive process and great speed going on the
counter, where Bale let’s his quality flow, they scored a goal per game and
only conceded 4. Qualification was natural and now they hope to do the same.
Squad
Goalkeepers:
Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace), Daniel Ward (Liverpool), Owain Fon Williams
(Inverness Caledonian Thistle).

Ashley Williams (Swansea City), James Chester (West Bromwich Albion), Ben
Davies (Tottenham Hotspur), James Collins (West Ham United), Chris Gunter
(Reading), Neil Taylor (Swansea City), Jazz Richards (Fulham).

Forest), Jonathan Williams (Crystal Palace), David Edwards (Wolverhampton

Gareth
Bale
Club : Real Madrid (SPA)
Age : 26 years
From a
promissing left back, to a world class winger, to a Real Madrid Galatico. This was Bale’s trajectory
from 2007 to 2013, with some of his great highlights occurring in Champions
League for Tottenham. Was the best player in the Premier League twice and is
most expensive player ever. Last years has been niggled by injuries, but surely
will be ready for this historic opportunity
Ben
Davies
Club : Tottenham (ENG)
Age : 23 years
Consistent
left back, made career at Swansea and was a revelation when the team got
promotion to Premier League. At Tottenham his appearances have been irregular
at best, but Ben Davies has the Euro as a perfect opportunity to show he
deserves more than that.
Chris Coleman
A good
center back and normally captain of his teams, seen his career prematurely
ended by a car accident that broke his leg. After some subpar managerial
experiences, he was the option the Welsh FA chose upon Gary Speed’s demise.
With the best generation in decades, Coleman
has and wants to keep writing history.
What to expect from them?
Chris Coleman is aware of the qualities and deficiencies of his team. Therefore it’s most likely that Wales will use a very defensive 5-3-2, with Bale being one of the two most advanced man and the creative source for the Welsh. We will see a team that sits back and in the first chance they’ll have, try to search for his star man. It worked in qualification, and Bale has all the qualities for solving matches in France as well.
