Group A - Make way for French and Swiss

Group A

With France being clearly the strongest, being the hosts and the most experienced, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Switzerland doesn’t achieve qualification themselves. If football was just the numbers, would be a safe bet that both teams will have six points after two games.
That leaves Romania and Albania with the task of fighting the odds, knowing that they will always have the last match to win, and that might be enough to qualify as a 3rd best.

FIL’S Prediction –

1st – France
2nd – Switzerland
3rd – Romania
4th – Albania

France will top the group if they can eliminate any doubts about their defensive quality, that have been the talk with all the injuries that have been affecting the team. Another big issue with Les Blues are the problems off pitch, with this year’s big trouble being Benzema’s case.
The order of the games was very helpful for Switzerland that knows that this a great chance to easily qualify for the knockout stages and even dream to beat France in the last game.
It feels that Iordanescu’s experience might be determinant for Romania’s team to have a better fighting chance than Albania, but both those teams know that they are not expected to shine. And that might free them to play with more courage and without any fear of failing.
